This is an active U.S. Navy facility. As such, all visitors must present identification. Passports are the only form of international identification which are accepted. All visitors will pass an airport-style security check (metal detector and possible wanding). No weapons are allowed. This sounds strange, but, normally, there is always one person who brings a weapon (usually mace or a knife) and, therefore, can not participate in the tour.
