Built in 1798, the Massachusetts State House is home to the state government of

Massachusetts. Recognizable by its gold dome, this historic building has long served

as a landmark of Boston and is a prominent feature of the lovely Beacon Hill

neighborhood. Join us to meet new people, make new friends and practice English

while exploring this fascinating building and its history!

Important Notes:

  • Please wear comfortable shoes for walking.

  • Please be prepared for typical, unpredictable, New England weather.

  • This is a Massachusetts state government facility. As such, all visitors will pass a security check (metal detector and possible wanding). No weapons are allowed (including mace). This sounds strange, but, normally, there is always one person who brings a weapon and, therefore, can not participate in the tour.
